Very cozy and quiet. The location is a few minutes walk from Fusaki beach by quiet single-lane roads. You can walk up the hill for views around the island and beautiful sunsets. The ceiling over the bed is glass so you can look at the stars at night. A star shower coincided with my stay and I saw numerous falling stars while laying in bed. Not an experience you are going to get anywhere else. The owner was incredibly thoughtful and kind and made my stay even better. The cottage has more amenities than more expensive places I have stayed.

They make this boutique hotel very special. So friendly and helpful.

Taketomijima Akaneya is located in Taketomi. The accommodation features traditional Okinawan red tile roofs and traditional Taketomi-style decor and amenities made from local woods and grass. Very close to the main beaches and to town, beautiful Japanese-style rooms and king-size bathroom. Very clean and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
