There are self service welcome drinks on arrival (apple juice and coffee) , hot towels to freshens up and a variety of amenities. To my delight there was also a beautiful hotspring indoor bath and outdoor bath with a lovely garden on the top floor with great views. After the bath you can help yourself to a complementary 'yakult' drink in the morning and ice creams in the evening. They even provide complementary noodles as a late night snack.

Beautiful hotel right near the lake and downtown. Only short walk to illumination, which was vert fun. Amazing dinner and spectacular onsen. Wonderful in the winter.

This Ryokan has one of the best hot spring water in Japan. It’s our fourth time to come visit here, and I always cannot appreciate enough everything about this Ryokan. Best Onsen, food is fabulous and staff members are super kind. We will surely come back as always.

The Towadako Lakeside Hotel exceed our expectations in every way. The staff was extremely friendly even though we spoke with very broken Japanese, they seemed to piece together our English rather well. We booked the traditional room with the meal plan including dinner and breakfast. The food was locally sourced, prepared perfectly and arranged in the most beautiful presentation at every meal; no two meals were alike. The lake's Kokonee Salmon was the highlight of my weekend, but my husband and son really enjoyed the Hokoda beef. There was a ton of delicious food at each meal and they were happy to bring more, if needed (it was not needed). The traditional room was set up with tea service during the afternoons and was transformed into a bedroom during dinner service. Upon returning from breakfast service the tea table was back in place. The furnishings are minimal, but perfect. The hotel provides traditional robes for use throughout your stay and it is encouraged that you wear them at any point--even to meals. We did not try the public bath or onsen, but definitely will next time.

I liked the decoration, the hotel shape and the outdoor onsen. The room was very comfortable. The staff was welcoming. And above all, the food is really amazing! It's a little bit expensive but after all it's really worth the money!
