Everything was refined and elegant. The breakfast was sumptuous, with bread freshly baked in house, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs made to order, an outstanding selection of cheeses including an excellent Comte and a rare Trappe d'Echourgnac, and an extensive choice of teas and coffees. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know the owners, Naina and Olivier. We shall certainly come back at the very first opportunity.

Our excellent hosts provided a clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable room on the third floor of their very old but modernized home. It was located two minutes' walk across a parking lot from the magnificent medieval center of Sarlat. The room was just high enough to offer a nice window view across the police station next door and a few rooftops. The well-lit spiral stairs were tight, no surprise for such a property. Created in the attic, tour room's old structural beams gave us the feeling of authenticity without inconvenience. Breakfast was limited but good and enhanced by Alisa's homemade jams. The bed was very comfortable, and the nice shower provided plenty of hot water. Access to onsite parking was tight for our (unfortunately) "upgraded" larger SUV-type car, but we made it into the secure lot without incident. Guests should know (1) rue du College (N. end) is marked by a traffic sign denying entrance to the public, but guests are exempted, and (2) that the front door is not used for entry; the buzzer is to the left of the iron gate. First access might be easiest to park at the South end, walk 50 yds to the gate, and announce your arrival that way. Our rental car overheated and died during our visit so we spent a second day in the immediate area, and Sarlat provided everything needed to compensate. When it was time, Daniel even provided a ride to the train station so we could make it back to Bordeaux.

    Great proximity to the centre of Sarlat; easy parking (free overnight); friendly, attentive hosts; lovely breakfast (ham and eggs available, if required); the room was private, quiet, comfortable and tastefully decorated; the bed was very comfortable. Follow the hosts advice on restaurants as there are plenty of tourist traps in the town.

    We loved the charming ambiance, the perfect peaceful location (close to good parking) the spa bath, the wonderful private courtyard and plunge pool, the fabulous views of Sarlat front and back, the large comfortable bed and the welcome bottle of local wine! Jonathon was an excellent host who was always very helpful, friendly, prompt and obliging.

    Lovely apartment- high quality equipment and finish. Very spacious - we stayed in the XL studio - we got a free upgrade to this which was great. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Super king bed was very comfortable Absolutely stunning views from the apartment and its private terrace. Very quiet - could hear the owls at night. Lovely garden and pool areas.

    A lovely charming cottage, in a truly idyllic location (nb: a car is needed). Plenty of space, nice area to eat outside. Quiet, calm, comfortable. Hostess Michele (who by the way speaks excellent English) was wonderful -- responded quickly and positively to all issues (e.g. when microwave stopped working, she arrived with a new one within about ten minutes!). This must be one of the best self-catering places I've ever stayed in, and I'd love to go back.

    The hostess was very welcoming and found us a restaurant. The bedroom was nicely furnished. the location was good with parking outside in a quiet cul-de-sac but within walking distance of the city centre. The breakfast was excellent.
