We stayed at the MinatoMirai which is walking distance to most of the attractions like the pier district, museums and Chinatown.
Totally different from Tokyo, much more relaxed and the pier district was wonderful!
There was also a yummy anchovy based ramen near the Yokohama Station .... can't remember what it was but it was yummy!
So many attractions and interesting places to explore. Totally recommend a few days exploring Yokohama.

Yokohama is a city brimming with interesting places to visit, delicious food to sample, and history to learn. Not only that, but I’ve spent a lot of time in Japan, and no where else did I find such friendly people!
My favorite bite was at Central Burger off the Ishikawacho stop. They serve an amazing American style smash burger that they’ve made completely their own. I had to leave the states to find a burger THAT GOOD.
I was sorry to leave this great city.

Yokohama, a gem among the cities I've visited, truly encapsulates the essence of a modern yet culturally rich urban landscape. The city's charm lies not only in its stunning architecture and well-planned layout but also in the warmth and friendliness of its people, a trait synonymous with Japanese hospitality. Strolling through Yokohama, one cannot miss the iconic landmarks that define its skyline – the majestic Sail Training Ship Nippon Maru, a beacon of the city's maritime heritage, and the towering Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views. The city is also a sanctuary for those seeking a blend of modernity and tradition, with its numerous temples and historical sites providing a tranquil escape. Every culinary experience here was a delight; the restaurants in Yokohama go above and beyond to offer exceptional service, ensuring each meal is not just about the exquisite Japanese cuisine but also about the overall dining experience. This harmonious blend of urban sophistication and cultural richness makes Yokohama an unforgettable destination.

A must see city during trip to Japan, esp when Gundam is still there. It's near Tokyo. The city is quite peaceful. You could walk around the seaside. Not to crowded. The pedestrian walk is huge. Awesome cities. They have China Town, you could find so many food restaurants, and shops.

Yokohama is beautiful.
Yokohama is beautiful. Just do go there and enjoy the place, food, people and the sea. In addition, there is an ice rink in winter. The Washington Hotel is a great place to stay and there are plenty of restaurants and in the hotel complex and in the surrounding area.
The Washington hotel is one stop past JR Yokohama station. It can be confusing but worth the trip. Or you can walk. It is a long walk so better to take the train.

The bay area is lovely to walk in the evening, so many malls and parks around there. The landscape and public area are gorgeous considering for a big city.
If you are a car guy, not only visit Nissan Global HQ but also go further to the Nissan engine museum which is basically the old building of their Yokohama factory, few people know this place but the collection of their legendary engines and heritage is worth a visit
I've been staying at this hotel since I was a little girl; my grandma would book it all the time. The staff have always been at the top of their game, as polite and helpful as can be. Our room this time was very roomy with a fantastic view of the bay. Loved it! Location is always great, as Yokohama's chinatown is my favorite. I prefer the Japanese breakfast, but my boyfriend wanted the western one and we went for that instead. It was tasty. Wish I thought to stay another night!
This apartment hotel is located more fun and spacious part of Yokohama than near Yokohama station where are nothing but shops and offices. Oakwood is right next to Bashamichi subway station. The building has a parking on the basement, and freeway is 3 mins away. A nice supermarket is right next to the building and opens long hours. The view of the bay from the suite is spectacular. It’s a nice feeling it has a balcony though you are not supposed to sit there.
The hotel was walking distance to many tourist attractions, including the Minato Mirai area and the stadium where we saw a baseball game. The hotel has two Family Marts, which came in handy for buying snacks and drinks. There is a very popular public bath which we didn’t have time to check out. The room was clean and filled with all the amenities usually offered at Japanese hotels (e.g., pajamas, toiletries, etc.).
This was probably my top pick out of my hotels for my trip to Japan. I was only in Yokohama for one night, but I wish I had been there longer just for this hotel. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I had throughout my whole trip, as Japan tends to like the harder mattresses and pillows. The location is right above the subway and has its own little entrance and exit.
Conveniently close to Yokohama station, you literally can just walk through the station to the hotel elevators. Rooms were clean and love that they did a "green pass" type of thing where they gave you a 500 yen certificate per day that you didn't need maid service. Several restaurant choices inside the hotel and in the surrounding area so we never went hungry.
The hotel is incredible. The location is fantastic at 10 min from the conference center Pacifico and in the heart of Yokohama. Everything is clean and the room is cleaned once a day. The room is small but it is part of the Japanese culture. It's even relatively cheap (64 euro per day) . Absolutely approved.
The hotel is close to the train and bus stations.
The room is bigger than the standard in Japan, making it comfortable and pleasant. Considering the hotel's proximity to 2 main streets, there was no noise during the night.
Everything was clean and the check-in and out were very smooth. Highly recommended!
Modern and clean hotel with amazing views of the bay, city skyline, and Mt Fuji. Staff is organized, welcoming, and helpful. Location was near train station, shopping, and restaurants. Fitness center is clean and functional. Buffet breakfast had good variety and was good. Room and bed were comfortable.
Surrounding area are mainly office buildings and there are many eateries, convenient marts etc
Shin Yokohama station is convenient to get around to other nearby areas
The staff is very helpful
The room is bigger than usual Japanese hotels
Nice amenities for ladies
This brand new hotel is one of the best experiences I had in Japan. Great location at Yokohama. We can see Mt. Fuji from our room. The room is clean and spacious. The electric blind is excellent. Woke up, pressed the button and you can see Mt. Fuji on your bed!
The entire hotel and the room was clean and the air conditioner worked very well. We were able to control everything easily. The staff is bi-lingual, but if you speak Japanese they are respectful to you. The washing machine worked well and was not expensive.
Overall the hotel was very up to date. You get a fair room for a fair price. Location can defer depending on your plans, hotel was located exactly on a bridge ramp connected to the Jr Line. Hotel is minutes from the Jr line and Yokohama air cabin.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room is bigger compared to the usual size in Japan. Hotel is linked to the malls via basement link way. Yokohama Station is just opposite the hotel. A must stay if you are in Yokohama.
It is in a good location to China Town or the Marine Bay. We used car, which was convenient to travel during the trip. Yokohama is worth vistiting in Japan. This hotel is worth a stay for your vacation.
Excellent hotel I have stayed at many times now. Absolutely recommended. Slightly starting to show a bit of age, but still a perfect location to base out of for a Yokohama visit.
